How would you describe your style of art?

I was working since 1982 as a Networker in an International Mail Art and in Fluxus community.

I am actually Working in Video Performance & Video Art, Abstract Sculpture, and as a Photo Silkscreen engraver.

And as a independent Curator and Writer for Escáner Cultural: The Virtual Magazine Of Contemporary Art And Emerging Trends. My Column is named Digital - Analog (Digital - Análogo).

This performative action was developed a photo studio, built to simulate an endless, illusory environment, not bounded by converging used lines alternative to show in a progressive sequence the context of an art installation.

As a performative action recorded on video, the Performer - Viewer relation requires a minimal interaction with the receiver as it doesn't require their attendance, making it an asynchronous event, the absence of a specific time and space so that the activity is conducted live.

The receiver then receives the testimony and documentation of the action indirectly using various technologies including video through the collection, editing and transmission of a sequence of sounds and images that represent scenes in motion, or using the Internet from a social space with the support of video, typical of Web 2.0 technology, or directly by using streaming plug-in for browsers to display multimedia content. These features make this event a Teleperformance, referring to the action in a different location away from the original or real center of activity.

Preliminary sketches were part of forming the design of works to be exhibited as installations within or outside the perimeter or alternative cultural spaces. These sketches are not in themselves a story board, a layout determining on which the story of a conventional video is told. There are no strict limits or defined perimeters for the composition and interaction of different symbolic registers thus not following a traditional audio-visual narrative.

Ephemeral acting denounces the critical situation concerning the violation of human rights, enforced disappearances, abduction, represented by the confluence of physical media, plastics, scenic, and semiotic media as a metaphor for current social reality in which the individual and the collective are violated in their physical, moral and ethical reality, by phenomena such as globalization, the paramilitaries, social segregation and the war caused by religious fanaticism.

How do you decide on your subject matter?

Basically I exchange Mail Art works concerning Conceptual Art & Fluxus works and expressions.

I produce as an engraver Photo Silkscreen editions.

I am working actually in an urban sculpture (in process) for installing in an urban place in my city Medellín - Colombia

I am working in a Video Performances Installations that include video, photography Digital Image, performing and sound art.
