Artists, I understand, exist in the void between that which is spiritual, subjective, abstract, symbolic and that which is mundane, physical, objective and concrete. I have spent the majority of my life as the medium within the media and, if I were…

About Me:
I am reconstructing an evolution of human culture based on Neolithic village aesthetics: the whole world becomes one. The concept is based on research of what Christian missionaries in all four corners of the world called 'fetish', a central element of what they thought was "primitive religion". It was not religion, but "territorial semiotics" paired with "spatial aesthetics" and local "social hierarchies" the latter being focussed on the village founder and his local hegemony. The archaeologists with their 'stony brains' have never discovered this eternal law of neolithic farmers: using their hands as the first tool they made forms with fibrous materials using binding as the first technique and then - when materials again were freshly grown - they simply reproduced the form with new materials! Aesthetics remained, because they were - from the beginning - self producing (not conceived by humans), but finally discovered and imitated! Form traditions: thousands of years! A phantastic thing! You suddenly understand the whole world as a work of art!

Idiosynchronism

Jemima Puddleduck has an "Information" in his/her site saying.

"Our premise is that nothing can be objective- all experience is subjective based on emotion, passion and the self, there is no ultimate truth or reality other than our own transitory feelings and illusions."

I definitely object to this. If this were correct we could not speak of this or that culture, of this or that kind, of this or that style etc etc.. I agree that there are a lot of illusions, but - definitely - not all i… Continue

This is a link to an online, ongoing journal by Joel Weishaus. Much of the writing centers upon shamanism and topics that I believe you would be interested in reading.

Hi Nold, one of our memebers on the Idiosynchronism site at www.niccosta.com has just written an article about beauty entitled "Beauty the drug of choice" which will hopefully be published in a leading art magazine later this year - it turns the concept of beauty on its head and argues that we use beauty in much he same way as we use drugs, in order create the illusion of stability and permanence in a world that is essentialy transitory and unstable and thereby miss the point of our existence
