Creative Potential is Limited and BANNED!

I think it is possible that quantity can produce poor quality sometimes. I think a well polished artist would be in control enough to handle haste. There are many very good prolific artists so that s…

Profile Information

Hometown:
Bristol, FL
Country:
United States of America
About Me:
I was born in North Florida and have lived within 20 miles of where I was born my entire life. I married my high school sweetheart and we have 5 living children, and lost one son. Art was not taught at our rural school but my mother recognized my talent and my sister's talent and kept us amply supplied with things to do. She was a cosmotologist and had a shop in our home. While she worked, she entertained us with drawing and painting. She would buy a roll of butcher paper and we would roll it out the length of the house and draw all day, just stopping for some Chips Ahoy Chocolate Chip Cookies and milk or frozen peaches or boiled peanuts we had put up in the freezer. Our school teachers found many ways to help us develop our talents all through our public school years. After I started to college, I took courses whereever I worked, studied from local artists, and took a correspondence course in the graphic arts. When I started having the children, I stopped doing art for a while. My husband used to go fox hunting at night. We lived near the forest and I was left there alone with the children. The country has all kinds of night noises, especially when you are used to town noises. I decided to paint when he went hunting. It filled a big gap in my life. I started getting anxious for him to go hunting. I guess it struck him a little strange. He eventually stopped fox hunting, but I would not give up painting. I started painting electronically with fractals in 2007 and have found them to be a very interesting medium. The way that I compose my paintings makes it next to impossible for anyone to duplicate my work without a copy of my file. Fractals have parameters or sets of numbers that serve at a boundary, another set for the type of fractal (which is then sent through an equation for the type of graphing plane) and a third set that determines the colors in the fractal. These numbers are rounded to the nearest 100,000th...so, although they might use the same graphing program, it is not likely they will find all of the individual fractals I created to make my final composition with. Yes, I use several fractals, 3-10 or more, in almost every piece. I hope you will let me know what you think about my work.
Are You artist?
yes
If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
Digital, Drawing, Painting
Member type
Artist
How would you describe your style of art?
My digital fractals are bright and have a bit of flare tot hem. My landscapes are more traditonal as well as most of my other hand art. I do ballpoint pen art, which tends to be detailed.
Describe your most recent work:
I just finished a commission for a floral stilllife with flowers colored to match the room. It was done in oil.
How do you decide on your subject matter?
I have been obsessed with fractals...they really have no subject except to sit there and mesmerize the viewer. Other work that is not comissioned comes from ideas from inside an sometimes from something I see. I keep a sketchbook and try to sketch ideas that are worth going back and doing later. It is a fat book.
