Basically how i go about it is viewing the canvas as a battlefield and taking colors and applying them with vigor and they sometimes dictate my next step or color and at what angle to attack. My so called balance or field corordinaters are usally white or black.I like to think of myself as an action painter strongly influenced by artist like Franz Kline- William DeKooning-Jackson Pollock and greatly stress the teachings of Hans Hoffman on color balance.
